07. – 09 . November 2019

Topic 2019:
Translational research in cardiovascular disease:
Molecular mechanisms and clinical implications

RWTH SuperC, Templergraben 57 ∙ 52062 Aachen

Dear Colleagues,
Diabetes is one of the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease and given the increasing epidemic of diabetes as well as the recognition that diabetes does not only promote the development of vascular disease but also heart failure, diabetes has become one of the major research topics in cardiology over the last years.

A better understanding of the pathophysiology of diabetes related complications as well as novel therapeutic options to modulate cardiovascular risk in these patients contributed to a shift in paradigm how patients with diabetes should be treated today.

Our symposium on new perspectives in diabetes, lipids, coronary artery disease and heart failure as well as CKD will cover the latest research on the pathophysiology of diabetes and its complications as well as most recent aspects of therapy and risk modification.

It is a great pleasure to invite you and to welcome you to our symposium and I ´ m looking forward to a fruitful and interesting scientific exchange.
