Award winners of the annual meeting of the DGAF April, 7-9, 2016 in Rauischholzhausen

At the annual meeting the DGAF honored young investigators for their excellent contributions to the scientific progress in the field of arteriosclerosis research. The W.H. Hauss-Prize for an outstanding publication in 2015, the Young Investigator Award for the best presentation as well as 2 prizes for the best posters were awarded.

Dr. Robert Ryan Koenen (Maastricht, The Netherlands) was honored with the W.H. Hauss Prize for his publication “Hyperreactivity of junctional adhesion molecule A‐deficient platelets accelerates atherosclerosis in hyperlipidemic mice” (Circ Res. 2015 Feb 13;116(4):587‐99).

Dr. Jan‐Marcus Daniel (Hannover, Germany) is the winner of the Gotthard Schettler Young Investigator award for his presentation “Adventitial activation by sonic hedgehog signaling is critical for vascular remodeling”.
The award was kindly donated by Pfizer Pharma GmbH.

Elisabeth Ullmann (Mainz, Germany) got the Eberhard‐Betz‐Prize for her poster „Increased pulmonary artery pressure, oxidative stress and vascular dysfunction in monocyte‐induced pulmonary hypertension is improved by pentaerythrityltetranitrate therapy”.
The award was kindly donated by B. Braun Melsungen AG.

Ann‐Kathrin Koch (Marburg, Germany) was awarded the Hans‐Kaffarnik‐Prize for her poster „Nucleotidebinding oligomerisation domain‐containing protein 1 (Nod1) mediates proatherosclerotic processes and glucose metabolism”.
